Edloe Island and the Edloe Model of Land Ownership & Community
Not too long ago my cousin, Hope Clary, offerred me a tour of Edloe Island, where she lives. I was intrigued because I had just recently heard a podcast about Edloe and especially liked what I heard as the balance between individual ownership and community that had been established there. I was thrilled then to discover that Hope actually lived on Edloe and was, in fact, the same Hope mentioned in the podcast. Here are some photos from our partial tour:

The stained glass face of this clock is the face of Edloe is a memorial to Crap Mariner's cat. Crap Mariner is the "leader" of Edloe, but as he shared with me in a recent conversation: "i prefer not to lead as a dictator... i build consensus, make a proposal, and poll for ideas....because i am not 100% owner of the islands. just seen as the "first among equals" for getting them together." If you look into the top of the tower you can see the art gallery that's housed there.

My cousin, Hope Clary, and I take a break from our tour of Edloe to chat. This table will serve you meals, too.

Re: SL thoughts
Absolutely..I'm so totally in agreement with your "half-baked theory". The mind creates reality. Quantum physics, metaphysics, especially the eastern spiritual traditions recognize that. And now modern brain science.
